Madison Regional Health System is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist to be a part of the Madison Regional Health System mission: Committed to providing quality healthcare, close to home.
Phlebotomists are an essential part of our Laboratory workflow and are responsible for specimen collection, activating and entering orders, faxing or sending orders, weekly outreach facility collections, and receiving outpatient orders and clinic-collected specimens. The working conditions include a clean, well-lighted area that involves sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and frequent repetitive motion of the hands/wrists involved. Potential exposure to infectious disease, body fluids, odors, and dust.
CPR certification is required; provided if not already attained. Phlebotomy certification is preferred; on-the job training available. Excellent patient service, attention to detail, great telephone etiquette, computer knowledge, and the ability to multi-task in pressure/stressful situations are essential.
Expected part time hours are 16-28 hours/week. Flexible scheduling options are offered; varying shifts between the hours of 6am-6:30 pm Monday-Friday with a rotation of weekend urgent care hours (Saturday 8-10am). Shift differential occurs 6pm-6am Monday-Friday, weekends, and holidays. MRHS offers retention pay to individuals who have worked at the facility for greater than one year. Madison Regional Health System employees receive a discount at the on-site cafeteria.
