Certified Pilates Instructor
Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is Madison's public recreation provider. MSCR offers a wide variety of athletic, recreational, arts and enrichment activities and classes for all ages in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming instruction, MSCR on the Move, arts & enrichment classes, youth summer camps, sports camps & clinics, adult & 50 fitness, adult sport leagues including pickleball, softball and tennis, and a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including paddling sports, pontoon trips, camping, orienteering and challenge courses.
As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), MSCR also provides afterschool enrichment activities, clubs and sports as well as summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools, Allied Learning Center and Meadowood Neighborhood Center. Afterschool clubs and sports include : arts & enrichment, homework / academic clubs, drama, dance, skiing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country and much more!
During the school year, MSCR offers Afterschool and Enrichment Programs at 15 MMSD Schools. Many of these sites have been awarded Community Learning Center (CLC) grants through the Federal Government. These programs offer curriculum to help support the students who need extra support in math and / or literacy.
Program Description :
MSCR Goodman-Rotary 50 Fitness program encourages adults 50 and better who live in the Madison Community to live healthier, happier and more productive lives by participating in affordable, conveniently located, professionally-taught fitness and wellness classes.
We are seeking a compassionate Pilates instructor with strong interpersonal skills to guide our participants through traditional Pilates based exercises.
Job Description & Duties :
Instructors are responsible for planning and leading safe and effective fitness classes to participants with a wide variety of fitness backgrounds and physical abilities.
The ideal candidate will be able to :
- Demonstrate proper techniques and guide participants' through exercises on a mat.
- Create programs based on participants' abilities and posture.
- Prepare appropriate progressions and exercise alternatives to meet the needs of participants' within the larger group context.
- Maintain a safe and clean workout environment. Ensure all equipment required for class is set-up before and put away after each class.
- Build and maintain participation in group fitness classes.
- Provide a welcome and inclusive environment.
- Ability to visually cue and demonstrate.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
Start Date : As soon as possible
Work Location : MSCR West.
Hours / week : 1-3 hours a week.
Work hours : Flexible; 8AM-4PM

Payrate : 25.00 - 31.00 / hour
