Youth Sports Field Supervisor
Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is Madison's public recreation provider. MSCR offers a wide variety of athletic, recreational, arts and enrichment activities and classes for all ages in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming instruction, MSCR on the Move, arts & enrichment classes, youth summer camps, sports camps & clinics, adult & 50 fitness, adult sport leagues including pickleball, softball and tennis, and a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including paddling sports, pontoon trips, camping, orienteering and challenge courses.
As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), MSCR also provides afterschool enrichment activities, clubs and sports as well as summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools, Allied Learning Center and Meadowood Neighborhood Center. Afterschool clubs and sports include : arts & enrichment, homework / academic clubs, drama, dance, skiing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country and much more!
During the school year, MSCR offers Afterschool and Enrichment Programs at 15 MMSD Schools. Many of these sites have been awarded Community Learning Center (CLC) grants through the Federal Government. These programs offer curriculum to help support the students who need extra support in math and / or literacy.
Program Description :
MSCR Youth Sports offers fun and recreational and instructional programs. These programs build the foundation for the fundamentals of the sports taught.
Job Description & Duties :
- Support the Youth Sports Specialist to manage program staff and programs by providing direction, leadership, and support.
- Assist Youth Sports Specialist to hire, train, schedule, manage, and evaluate staff in an effort to achieve the desired program outcomes.
- Position requires direct service when needed.
- Direct service includes coaching, officiating, or leading programs.
- Organize and maintain program equipment needs to ensure program safety and quality.
- Evening and weekend hours required; coordinate schedule with Youth Sports Specialist.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Start Date : 12 / 2 / 2024
Work Location : MMSD schools and MSCR West.
Hours / week : 10-18 hours per week.
Work hours : Monday - Thursday 5 : 30pm-8pm, Saturday 9am-12pm.

Experience with coaching or youth sports.
