Position Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Length of Work Yr: 9 months

Salary Range: $52,025  

Placement based on education and experience

Department: Student Services

Reports To: Director for Student Services 

 

JOB GOAL:

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for assessing and analyzing student behavior to develop, implement, and refine behavioral strategies and intervention plans. The BCBA works to improve student behavior through the collection of data, development and revision of behavioral strategies and intervention plans. This role includes driving behavior change, providing training and support, overseeing the execution of behavior plans, and ensuring continuous progress monitoring to promote ongoing success.



QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Master’s degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis or related field. 
  2. Completion of an approved Verified Course Sequence in Applied Behavior Analysis. 
  3. Holds current, valid BCBA certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Applicants must be in good standing.
  4. Holds current and valid Behavior Analyst license in the state of Arizona through the Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners. Applicants must be in good standing.
  5. Required: 

    • Two (2) years of experience working with students with behavioral needs.
    • IVP Fingerprint clearance card and background clearance check. 
    • A valid Arizona driver’s license.
    • Certification in both CPI and First Aid/CPR/AED.
  6. Knowledgeable about applicable federal, state, county and city statues, rules, policies and procedures. 
  7. Possess knowledge of federal and state laws regarding Special Education
  8. Knowledgeable about the eligibility categories within Special Education.
  9. Proficient in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and various ABA strategies.
  10. Strong understanding of evidence-based best practices in behavioral interventions.
  11. Skilled in collaborating across multiple sites and working effectively with administrators.
  12. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, students, parents, the public, and other stakeholders within the school district.
  13. Ability to engage in self-reflection and adjust behavior programs as necessary to ensure effectiveness.
  14. Proficient in using computer technology and a variety of software applications.
  15. Relate to students and staff in a positive manner. 
  16. Commitment to supporting all students in their least restrictive environment, including the general education classroom
  17. Other duties as assigned.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Lead the facilitation, completion, or revision of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs).
  2. Conduct informal observations and gather data to support the development of behavioral interventions.
  3. Facilitate the creation or revision of formal Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and informal behavior support plans.
  4. Design and facilitate implementation of data collection systems for monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans and behavior support plans.
  5. Train school personnel on effective data collection methods for Behavior Intervention Plans and behavior support plans.
  6. Conduct regular fidelity checks to ensure the proper implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and behavior support plans.
  7. Analyze data to inform and adjust behavioral strategies and interventions as needed.
  8. Prepare summary reports on individual student progress related to behavioral interventions.
  9. Collaborate consistently with assigned behavior specialists to monitor student needs and progress.
  10. Consult and collaborate with parents, school staff, administration, itinerant personnel, and external agencies as necessary.
  11. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to IEP development as needed.
  12. Model interventions and teaching strategies to support IEP goals and services.
  13. Provide ongoing training and consultation to school teams and staff on behavioral strategies, interventions, and data collection.
  14. Attend required site and district meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  15. Maintain data, records and documents required.  
  16. Ability to lift and carry supplies and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  17. May be required to lift students weighing up to 60 pounds. 
  18. May be required to work outside normal working hours. 
  19. Willingness to travel for work-related tasks.
  20. Contribute to the team by completing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).
  21. Perform other tasks as required to meet the needs of the role.

205 contract days

Strong ability to read and interpret written documents in English. Proficient in writing clear and effective routine correspondence in English. Skilled in speaking clearly and confidently to groups, including students, staff, and other stakeholders.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Capable of solving practical problems and navigating a range of situations or challenges. Able to interpret and follow both written and verbal instructions accurately and effectively.

Salary : $52,025 - $67,587
