Warehouse Associate

Job Summary
Local lumber & building supply company is seeking a well-spoken, energetic warehouse worker to maintain the warehouse and ensure the safe and efficient handling of lumber and building materials including loading, unloading and stocking/organizing inventory. The ideal candidate is a team player with experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a clean, organized and safe lumberyard environment
• Identifying and removing obstructions or hazards in the yard
• Ensuring proper storage and stacking of lumber and materials
• Recognizing and reporting damaged or missing materials
• Pulling orders for delivery
• Ensure orders are accurate and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
• Loading and unloading lumber and materials onto trucks and customer vehicles
• Inspect incoming shipments for any damages, defects, or errors
• Using appropriate tools and equipment, such as forklifts and hand trucks
• Following safety procedures and protocols
• Adhere to all health and safety guidelines
• Ability to thrive in high pace environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED is preferred
• Knowledge in building products and general construction
• Previous experience working in a warehouse setting is preferred
• Ability to use warehouse equipment, including forklift, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
• Capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
