Quality-Utilization Review/CDI-(FT)
The Clinical Documentation Specialist/Utilization Review (CDI/UR) RN is responsible for the evaluation of physician documentation utilizing their clinical expertise to support excellence in documentation and ensure the patients’ severity of illness is accurately portrayed in the medical record for specificity of coding and increased coding accuracy. The CDI/UR nurse conducts medical record/review assessing for intensity of care, appropriateness of services and utilization of resources.

1. This position requires the ability to function with a high degree of autonomy, good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, understanding of the health care continuum, and the ability to solve complex problems.
2. S/he must be highly self-motivated with a positive attitude and the flexibility and prioritization abilities to handle high pressure situations, work tasks, meetings, etc. in a rapidly changing environment.
3. Must demonstrate management and leadership skills and the ability to communicate successfully with all levels of individuals and groups, both professional and private.
Minimum Work Experience:
1. To function effectively in this role, the Case Manager must also have, preferably, at least five years of hospital experience and familiarity with medical terminology and disease processes.
Minimum Education:
1. Preferred Bachelor's Degree in nursing (graduated from an accredited school of nursing.)
2. Current nursing license in the State of Idaho (R.N.).
