Opportunity
Buyer is responsible for providing MadRag/10Spot customer with merchandise that is trend right, timely and priced competitively. Buyer will provide strategy and vision to ensure business is being maximized while achieving fiscal goals. Buyer will be informed and react to the market and competition and communicate to VPGMM with strategic plans to utilize information to drive sales and exit product categories in a timely manner for the optimum profitability. Buyer will provide direction for product placement cross functionally. Buyer will be responsible for training and development of direct reports in the appropriate company reports, analysis, processes and company values.
Overall Responsibilities
• Appropriately value items and negotiate accordingly. Manage margins through cost adjustments due to late deliveries, poor selling, competitive pricing as needed
• Manage OTB; executes flow merchandise according to plan and sales trends stays within the financial plan of the OTB. Suggest markdowns, price adjustments, promotions to drive business
• Analyze and reacts to up and down trending businesses and communicates to VP GMM
• Maximize product sales by working cross functionally with allocation team for correct product placement
• Possess Intimate knowledge of Market Product/Competition and communicate the same with supervisors
• Consider all factors when making decisions including but not limited to impact on area/company/vendors both short term and long term
• Develop and train direct reports in all aspects of business, business acumen, relationships and company values
• Coach and lead by example: train on business presence, speech and how one communicates in the workplace and m
Professional Experience
• Minimum of 2-5 years related experience
• Ability to travel and shop market and competition as well as MadRag/10Spot stores. Including overnight travel 2-5 days at a time if necessary.
• Following work schedule as directed
• Ability to prioritize, organize, maintain accuracy, initiative and self-starter
• Communication skills both verbal and written must be clear and concise as well as effective cross functionally
