We are a versatile and multidisciplinary engineering technology firm dedicated to delivering Construction Materials Evaluation and Technical Support Services. Our clientele includes owners and professionals involved in the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and infrastructure. Our team comprises licensed engineers and certified technicians who specialize in geotechnical engineering, construction materials assessment in both field and laboratory settings, geological sciences, subsurface exploration, and investigative engineering.
Position Summary : The Project Manager (PM) will oversee and manage all administrative, staffing, scheduling, and technical aspects of assigned drilling projects and support requests from the Drilling Division Manager and the Assistant Drilling Division Manager. Key responsibilities include ensuring project deadlines are met, managing budgets, and preparing deliverables for clients and internal staff. The PM will report directly to and receive training from the DDM and / or ADDM.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain clear and effective communication (verbal, written, and electronic) with CMEs, Clients, DDM, ADDM, CMEs Engineers, Drill Crews, and other project staff.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Clients, external project team members, and CME's internal engineering team, providing regular updates on project progress, results, and any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with internal CME Engineering staff and DDM to monitor project status, deliverables, budgets, technical challenges, access issues, and changes in work scope.
- Develop job instruction packages for drillers, clearly outlining project scope, requirements, and timelines.
- Review project documentation, contracts, drilling instructions, and budgets while coordinating project scheduling and implementation.
- Conduct site reconnaissance to determine exploration locations using GPS equipment. Engage with onsite personnel to assess utilities, access points, and terrain issues, and communicate these findings to the project team, making layout adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate underground utility clearance tasks and address any concerns with the project team. Interpret project plans and utility maps to identify utility issues prior to drilling, as well as manage UDIG NY notifications and follow up on responses.
- Supervise field teams and assess collected data for completeness and accuracy. Process data or coordinate its processing and delivery to CME project teams or Clients.
- Analyze data, create site maps and GPS data, prepare soil boring logs, review rock and asphalt cores, analyze concrete cores, evaluate infiltration test data, and compile reports for Clients or the CME Engineering team.
- Conduct field logging and drill rig inspections as necessary, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project objectives while maintaining daily communication with drill crews regarding progress and issues.
- Prepare change orders and budgets for any variations in work scope, coordinating with DDM or ADDM to ensure adherence to contract requirements.
- Manage scheduling in collaboration with DDM and assist in tracking project timelines. Additionally, coordinate site access and work with facilities as needed.
- Review and prepare invoices, budgets, and change orders while ensuring understanding of project contract requirements.
- Acquire knowledge of drill rig capabilities, drilling methods, and the mechanical aspects related to drilling work. Assist DDM in managing drill teams, equipment, and shop operations.
- Undergo training on GPS and survey equipment, infiltration testing, soil classification, core evaluation, laboratory testing types and outcomes, as well as drilling methods and limitations.
- Complete safety training for all necessary tasks and projects.
- Foster open communication with CMEs teams and Clients to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Support DDM in the division's operational functions.
