Job Description:
This is a critical role that involves developing and maintaining a strong EH&S culture within the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental health and safety within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the lumber industry.
Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement an effective EH&S program.
- Provide ongoing support to leadership in identifying workplace hazards and ensuring compliance with OSHA General Industry Standards and Company Standards.
- Assist the EH&S Manager in leading EH&S programs and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and policies.
- Facilitate EH&S training for all members and measure progress towards meeting EH&S targets and objectives.
- Report and record EH&S data in a timely manner and provide triage and first aid in the event of injury to a team member or contractor.
- Contribute to health screening processes, health education programs, OSHA recordkeeping, hearing conservation processes, etc.
Requirements:
- Experience in EH&S within a manufacturing environment (lumber-related preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Access, Word, etc.).
- Understanding of facilitating a successful EH&S program.
- Ability to present and train team members.
- Proactive and enthusiastic with effective leadership skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office software.
