Madrid CFTL is hiring a Construction Materials Technician to perform on-site field testing and inspections for construction projects across Florida. This role is key to ensuring the quality and compliance of materials used in infrastructure and development projects.
Responsibilities:

Conduct field and laboratory testing of construction materials, including soils, asphalt, cast-in-place concrete, masonry mortar and grout, in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and FDOT procedures.

Accurately record and report test results and observations.

Operate nuclear density gauges, air meters, slump cones, and other testing equipment.

Maintain testing tools and ensure they are calibrated and clean.

Follow all company and site-specific safety protocols.

Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and contractors to support fieldwork scheduling and testing requirements.

Local travel required. While overnight stays are rare, occasional early mornings, nights, and weekends may be required based on project needs.
Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED.

Must currently hold the following Florida-recognized certifications:

ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I

Nuclear Radiation Safety Certification

Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record.

Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in various outdoor conditions.

Dependable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience performing field or laboratory materials testing.

Additional certifications such as:

FDOT Earthwork Level I or higher
- Asphalt Plant 1 and 2
