Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Manager
Location: Bartow, FL
The QA/QC Manager is a critical leadership role at Madrid CFTL, responsible for overseeing the integrity, compliance, and performance of our field and laboratory operations. This position plays a key role in upholding our commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement across all construction materials testing services.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the QA/QC program for laboratory and field testing, ensuring consistent accuracy and compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, and FDOT standards.

Supervise and review test reports, daily field logs, and lab results to verify adherence to project specifications.

Standardize procedures across teams and ensure proper calibration and maintenance of equipment.

Mentor and train field and lab technicians to promote technical excellence and procedural consistency.

Collaborate with project managers and clients to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.

Maintain and update internal quality manuals, SOPs, and training records.

Participate in internal and external audits; ensure certifications and accreditations are current and upheld.

Track and analyze quality metrics, identifying trends and implementing improvements.

Contribute to business development by supporting proposals and communicating Madrid CFTL’s QA/QC capabilities.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.

Minimum 5 years of experience in construction materials testing (CMT), with 2 years in a QA/QC or leadership role.

FDOT field and lab certifications preferred (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils, etc.).

PE license or ability to obtain is a plus, not required.

Strong knowledge of ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, and FDOT testing procedures.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to documentation accuracy and procedural compliance.

Proficiency in industry software and Microsoft Office Suite.
