- Traffic Control:
- Direct traffic using hand signals, flags, and other signaling devices (e.g., paddles, cones, barricades).
- Ensure traffic flow is safe and efficient through construction zones.
- Monitor traffic conditions and adjust traffic control as needed.
- Inform motorists of detours or changes in traffic patterns.
- Safety:
- Ensure the safety of construction workers and motorists by maintaining clear and safe work zones.
- Identify and report any potential safety hazards to supervisors.
- Follow established safety guidelines and procedures.
- Communication:
- Communicate effectively with construction crews and motorists.
- Coordinate with other flaggers and construction workers to ensure smooth traffic flow.
- Provide clear and concise instructions to drivers.
- Other Duties:
- Set up and take down traffic control devices including, but not limited to, barrels, candlesticks, cones, and signs.
- Maintain records of traffic violations or incidents.
- Answer motorists' questions regarding detours or traffic conditions.
- Assisting crew in removal of debris and hazardous materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
Flagger requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Washing State Traffic Control Flagger card.
- Experience flagging is preferred.
- Knowledge of state traffic regulations preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in harsh weather conditions.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Excellent communication and observation skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
