What You’ll Do

At Madwell, the “well” in our name comes from the belief that all creativity must achieve a business outcome. Since we aren’t chasing creativity, for creativity-sake, measurement is crucial. As the Director of Data and Analytics, you’ll be redefining our measurement offering for the ever-changing landscape, setting up easy to digest data visualizations, going deep into data sets to unlock a never-been-thought-of insight, and optimizing solutions to achieve outsized results - no matter the KPI.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop measurement and optimization strategies. Work in partnership with Media Directors to ensure reporting delivers on meaningful insights and actionable recommendations for clients
  • Map systems and interfaces used to manage data, set standards for data management
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
  • Work with media team to synthesize data into various data cuts & visualizations to aid client reporting deliverables
  • Monitoring KPIs, flagging potential performance improvements to the team early and often, and keeping the team informed of progress
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts, processes and results to non-technical audiences
  • Implement machine learning and AI solutions where possible to deliver on innovative solutions for client partners
  • Prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work

Our Must-Haves

  • 8 years of data analyst experience in an agency or brand-side role
  • Strong knowledge of creating media KPI recommendations based on larger business objectives
  • In-depth understanding of the digital media landscape
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize datasets to build a compelling story with an actionable recommendations
  • Experience with data architecture, data modeling, database design, and/or data warehousing to build client-facing dashboards
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Datarama, etc.)
  • Broad awareness of data science concepts including, linear regression, logistic regression, correlation variance, standard dev, etc
  • Methodical and well-organized - knows every detail to the T

* This is a hybrid role based out of our NYC office, you must be located within commuting distance of Brooklyn, NY to be considered for this role. This role requires the candidate to be in the Brooklyn office 3 times a week*
