Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Structural Engineer with nuclear experience to serve as the primary Project Engineering Manager representative and act as a liaison between the client and the engineering team. This role requires leadership, engineering management, and technical expertise, particularly in the nuclear power industry. The successful candidate will oversee project execution, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence, while also providing guidance to staff and managing client relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary Project Engineering Manager representative for the project, liaising between the client and the engineering group.
- Provide engineering management and guidance to subordinate staff, ensuring adherence to company and project policies.
- Manage work activities to ensure the successful execution of projects while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
- Supervise and delegate tasks among the staff, ensuring efficient day-to-day activities and the identification of potential issues or opportunities.
- Lead problem-solving efforts, analyzing issues, developing alternatives, and selecting optimal approaches.
- Understand project scope, contract requirements, and client specifications, and ensure these are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support or conduct formal status reporting and presentations to the client and/or management.
- Oversee engineering design modification packages for nuclear power plants.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Engineering from an accredited university, with coursework in energy conversion and power systems.
- PE License (Professional Engineer) in any state, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states by comity.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Extensive nuclear experience in a U.S. operating plant.
- Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access at a nuclear power plant.
- Experience working with others in a Project Team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree (MS) in Engineering with a power focus.
- Field experience and conducting walk-downs on power projects.
- Experience with Electrical and/or Instrumentation & Controls Engineering.
- Experience with engineering design modification packages for nuclear power plants.
Location:
This position is based in Glen Rose, Texas, and requires the candidate to work onsite at the nuclear plant. No relocation assistance is provided.
Salary : $130,000 - $170,000
