About the Role
The Assistant Buyer at MAG Industries plays a pivotal role in our procurement operations, focusing on building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, sourcing and purchasing products, and securing the most favorable pricing. This position requires close collaboration with the sales team to meet customer demands and support sales objectives. By effectively managing supplier relationships, monitoring inventory levels, and identifying cost-saving opportunities, the Assistant Buyer contributes to the company's long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure high-quality and cost-effective product procurement.
- Research and analyze market trends to source new products and negotiate favorable pricing and terms.
- Work closely with finance and accounting to track purchasing budgets and ensure cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to align purchasing strategies with customer demand and business goals.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse operations to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Evaluate supplier performance and suggest improvements to enhance product quality, pricing, and service reliability.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and supplier agreements to optimize costs and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory data to support decision-making and reporting.
