Magee Plastics Company, a premier manufacturer of thermoplastics and composites for the airline, rail, and other industries, is currently hiring for 2 Assembly Worker positions. The Assembly Worker will be responsible for assembling products on the production line and ensuring that all parts and components are assembled correctly and in a timely manner. The worker must adhere to safety, efficiency, and quality standards set out by the company.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Studying and interpreting technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics and diagrams required to complete tasks.
- Reading and confirming the parts list, interpret measurements and verify specifications.
- Determining availability of materials and tools.
- Assembling components and ensuring that all parts are fitted correctly.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing repairs.
- Performing preventive maintenance and reporting and resolving assembly line issues.
- Keeping the workspace clean.
- Adhering to health and safety requirements of the company and the industry.
- Conserving resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail.
- Promptness and reliability.
- Ability to read, write legibly, speak and understand english.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Capable of performing basic data entry.
- Ability to read and follow procedures.
- Skill at hand work and associated machinery.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.
- Possess acceptable vision (with corrective lenses, as appropriate).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work with hand tools
- Basic knowledge of measurement units and tools
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
