Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is a world-class manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We have an exciting opportunity for a Machinist. The primary responsibility of a Machinist is to set up and operate CNC equipment / Mill turns/ Lathes /Grinders.

Essential Responsibilities

• Understand and follow the company safety policy including keeping a neat and clean work area.
• Perform daily machine maintenance including checking and maintain oil and coolant levels.
• Perform all duties in a highly productive manner to meet efficiency and productivity goals.
• Use measuring equipment to verify that all dimensional requirements have been met.
• Perform mathematical calculations and adjust machine settings accordingly.
• Must be able to read drawings and interpret engineering instructions to consistently produce products within .0002 tolerances.
  
  

Position Requirements

• A High School or Vocational School Diploma or equivalent.
• Hands on training in a machine shop environment.
• Five years of CNC machining experience.
• Able to use measuring equipment to verify requirements.
• Set up the machine and obtain a first piece.
• Ability to perform basic shop math calculations.
• The operator is required to stand for long periods of time while machining.
• The operator must lift parts in excess of 25 lbs. into the machine.
