Magellan Health, Inc. is seeking a skilled Military Adult Therapist to join our team at Ft McCoy. As a member of our team, you will provide essential counseling services to military service members and their families, helping them navigate the challenges of military life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide non-medical, short-term counseling directly to eligible service members and their families at assigned locations.
- Deliver training and health and wellness presentations, participate in health fairs, and other base/installation activities as requested or directed.
- Enter counselor activity data daily through a smartphone or web application to ensure accurate reporting from assigned installations while maintaining client/service member confidentiality.
- Consistently be visible within the brigade/regiment, making MFLC services accessible and establishing productive relationships with high-ranking military personnel.
- Respond to critical incidents, surge, and on-demand events, and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) program manager.
- Manage duty-to-warn and restricted reporting situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol and staff cases with the Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.
- Communicate with Regional Supervisors and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on installations.
- Participate in regular in-services/training, Quality Improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.
- Participate in initiatives, studies, and pilot programs as directed by the customer and/or Magellan.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited Graduate Program in a Mental Health-related field.
- Valid unrestricted independent counseling license from a State, District of Columbia, US Territory, or Commonwealth that grants authority to provide counseling services as an independent practitioner.
- A minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience.
- Demonstrate intermediate-level competencies in technology and software.
- Ability to engage and communicate with military members or children to accomplish job functions and respond quickly to emergent situations.
