The Recovery and Resiliency Trainer executes learning and development priorities, with a specialized focus on peer support as well as recovery and resiliency principles and practices. This role encompasses developing, scheduling, and conducting group and one-on-one training. The trainer facilitates learning experiences that enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of individuals and teams to support recovery journeys, while addressing broader company training needs. This includes developing and delivering trainings on policies, standards, computer systems, service delivery expectations, quality monitoring, and regulatory specifics. The role strategically incorporates lived experience to create engaging and impactful training sessions and includes departmental responsibilities like learning management system administration, material development and reporting.
  • Design and implement training on recovery, resiliency, peer support, policies, systems, and service delivery, utilizing diverse instructional methods to meet the needs of various audiences.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop targeted training programs based on assessed needs.
  • Create and update training materials, manuals and job aides to reflect best practices and changes in practice, ensuring accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
  • Utilize participant feedback, assessments, and other methods to measure program effectiveness and provide reports on outcomes.
  • Track and manage training records, manage registration and certificate of completion processes, and generate reporting.
  • Demonstrate strong virtual facilitation and technical skills to effectively deliver training in remote settings.
  • Work with internal and external partners to identify training needs and develop collaborative training initiatives.
  • Offer expertise on recovery, resiliency, peer support and company standards to individuals and teams.
  • Incorporate personal recovery experiences into training content and delivery, fostering empathy and understanding.

Other Job Requirements

Responsibilities

3 years of experience in formal training design and/or facilitation and coaching experience.
Must be a self-identified person in recovery who is a current or former user of mental health/substance use services and can relate to others who are now using those services.
2 years’ experience as a peer support specialist.
Certified CPRS/CPS/CPSS/CRPS/PRSS, Peer Specialist Certification as required by state.
Must have or be able to obtain the National Peer Support Credential (NCPS/NCPRSS) within one year of hire.
Ability to quickly become efficient in new software platforms and electronic health record systems.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work effectively, independently and in a team, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment to meet the demands of the organization.
Knowledge of behavioral health and community systems, wellness strategies, resiliency and recovery principles, practices, and tools, such as Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP), Intentional Peer Support, the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, and community-based peer, family and parent support organizations and services.
Experience working within electronic health records preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of training concepts and principles of adult learning.
Demonstrated ability to convert abstract ideas into concrete solutions, and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers.
Strong facilitation and virtual classroom management skills.
Skilled in use of MS Word (creating tables, managing formatting, saving versions), Excel, PowerPoint (creating presentations, using animation), Outlook.
Excellent training documentation skills, including manuals, job aids and facilitator/learner materials.

Salary Minimum:

$53,125

Salary Maximum:

$84,995

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
