Responsibilities:
In a classroom environment, Teachers will plan and supervise a warm, nurturing developmentally appropriate environment for the development of the whole child while integrating a program of both Limudei Hol and Limudei Kodesh under Magen David Yeshivah’s high level of care and educational standards.
Head Teacher will design and maintain a classroom environment that facilitates active, hands-on learning, group management, self-expression and choice, and inclusion of all children, parents, volunteers and staff.
Teach within a project-based program involving teaching through engaging topics that allow the integration of meaningful learning in all content areas while also supporting development across multiple domains.
Judaic studies are integrated and reinforced throughout the day.
Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress
Evaluate each student’s growth in knowledge and skills in the course being taught
Cultivate core Jewish values such as kindness, respect, compassion and integrity within students
Participates in various student and parent activities which occur in school including PTA and student clubs.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of Hebrew language is a must
Head teacher should have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree with intention to complete a
Master’s degree.
Hold certification and/or license in Early Childhood Education.
Preference will be given to those with teaching experience.
Knowledge of the Jewish Holidays
Experience in emergent curriculum is a plus
A background in constructivist- play based settings is a plus
