Position Overview:
We are looking for a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our team! As an Assistant Teacher, you will support the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for young children. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities and lessons.
- Provide supervision and care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development through engaging interactions.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Assist in preparing and serving meals and snacks, following dietary guidelines.
- Help with diapering, toileting, and basic personal care tasks as needed.
- Observe and record children’s behavior and development, and report to the lead teacher.
- Communicate with parents and caregivers, providing updates on children’s progress and activities.
- Maintain compliance with all daycare regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required); Child Development Associate (CDA) or some college coursework in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
- Previous experience working in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting (preferred).
- Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices.
- Ability to work well with children and demonstrate patience, kindness, and enthusiasm.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Child Care Training (preferred, or willingness to obtain.)
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred, or willingness to obtain).
