Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and energetic individual to join our team as a School-Age After Care Teacher. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and engaging children in a safe and fun environment after school hours. The ideal candidate will have experience working with school-aged children and be passionate about fostering a positive, supportive, and enriching environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise children in the after-care program, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, learning, and socialization.
- Assist with homework, ensuring that students have a quiet, supportive environment to complete their assignments.
- Provide emotional and behavioral support to children as needed, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Maintain clear communication with parents regarding the child’s day and any relevant updates.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the after-care program.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for the children.
Availability Requirements:
- Must be available to work the full day when school is out, including holidays, school breaks, and early release days.
- Flexibility to adjust schedule during special events, professional development days, or school-wide activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or a degree in education, child development, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with school-aged children (ages 5-12) in a daycare, camp, or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to foster a positive and engaging atmosphere for children.
