What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Head Start Teacher position at Magic Moments Daycare LLC?
Early Head Start teachers are responsible for the health, safety, and development of infants and toddlers:
- Curriculum: Plan and implement a curriculum that meets Ohio Department of Education standards, and includes Head Start content areas like health, nutrition, and parent involvement
- Lesson plans: Create weekly lesson plans that address individual goals for each child
- Classroom environment: Create a safe and healthy learning environment that meets the changing needs of infants and toddlers
- Activities: Plan and lead activities that promote physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips
- Communication: Establish and maintain ongoing communication with each child and their family
- Assessment: Observe children for safety and assessment purposes, and maintain child assessment records
- Collaboration: Work with team teachers, families, and colleagues to ensure each child's meaningful progress
Some other responsibilities of an Early Head Start teacher include:
- Participating in the planning, assessment, and evaluation of program content and center plans
- Following a consistent schedule
- Serving meals and snacks in accordance with nutritional guidelines
