Overview
We are seeking a dependable and flexible individual to join our team in a dual role as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and receptionist. This position will support both the clinical and front office functions of the practice, providing high quality patient care and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and eager to be cross trained across all aspects of a busy medical office.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories and explaining procedures.
- Support outpatient services by scheduling and confirming appointments, managing patient flow, and providing excellent customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in medical assisting.
- Greet patients warmly and professionally.
- Answer multi-line phones and direct calls appropriately.
- Check patient's in and out. Collect payments, verify insurance, and obtain authorizations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure privacy compliance.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is required.
- Prior experience in medical office setting is preferred.
- Proficient in medication administration protocols.
- Strong understanding of vital signs monitoring techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient interaction.
- Friendly, professional demeanor with a team oriented mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in both outpatient and inpatient environments.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual is preferred but not necessary.
