Role Summary
This position is for a new greenfield facility that will be located in the Greater Memphis, Tennessee area. Overall management of quality, Materials Planning & Logistics, Program Management, and World Class Manufacturing departments to ensure customer schedules, quality specifications and efficiency objectives are met. Support all departments in productivity attainment, quality standards, and conformance to policies and procedures. This position requires a positive, “can-do” attitude, excellent human management skills, decisiveness, and demonstrated commitment to continual improvement. This position requires a conscious focus on balancing all the needs of our Three Legged stool, and continuous improvement within the Cosma/ Magna Cultural framework.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant General Manager will perform all duties and promote them by setting a positive example in a manner that reflects the Magna Employee’s Charter, Corporate Constitution and the Divisions Mission, Visions and Values. He/She will lead and meet continuous improvement targets related to safety, quality, productivity, people, cost and customer satisfaction. The Assistant General Manager will provide leadership that focuses on the success of the division and the success of Cosma / Magna and models the behavior of a Cosma Leader.
- Assist the General Manager in developing and implementing strategies for achieving organizational goals and objectives.
- Ensure that short- and long-term goals per each reporting department are aligned to the overall division goals and are met.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, including managing staff members, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Manage the organization's COQ reduction efforts, including developing and implementing efficiency plans and overseeing customer service.
- Support the MP&L team in achieving efficiently the defined business objectives.
- Ensure excellent customer service and reporting.
- Coordinate the CFT in achieving Continuous Improvement targets and in implementing World Class Manufacturing standards.
- Ensure that job counseling and performance feedback is being appropriately provided, and at intervals that are sufficient to meet the needs of all Team Members.
- Assist in developing and monitoring the organization's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Collaborate with other department heads to develop and implement cross-functional initiatives to improve organizational performance.
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff members, including training and performance management.
- Ensure that defined rules of conduct and communications are created and clearly communicated.

- Must be able to understand written instructions.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively more responsible supervisory / managerial and leadership experience in high volume automotive manufacturing operation.
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
- A demonstrated working knowledge of Business and Financial matters required at a Divisional level.
- Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, coaching, mentoring, interpersonal, problem solving, motivational and negotiating skills.

- Plant environment characterized by temperature extremes, loud noise, considerable tow motor traffic and pressure caused by deadlines, interruptions team member problems.
- Personnal support for (3) shifts and weekend production schedule when required.
- Able to work and communicate; on the production floor, management meeting, with customers and suppliers.
- Must work with sense of urgency, ability to meet tight deadlines, to defuse conflict situations, management of confidential / sensitive information, maturity of judgement, maintain contacts internally / externally, overtime / flex hours as necessary, fast paced office & manufacturing environment.
- Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require local travel.
- Business travel is a requirement of this position, within and outside of core working hours
