Role Summary

In the method of World Class Manufacturing ensures proper quality of product by knowing customer specific requirements. Implements quality improvements as identified. Applies industry knowledge and experience to manage projects of production and logistics. Utilizes planning, resource, and task management skills in directing the team to successful implementation of projects. Can delegate and manage multiple projects at any given time. Can make autonomous decisions based on experience project requirements; has specialized training either formal or through on-the-job work experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and practice our “safety first” policy by addressing any hazards, defective equipment, or unsafe situations immediately.
  • Recommend and encourage others to recommend proposals for improving products, processes, systems, productivity, and work environment (Continual Improvement Process).
  • Responsible to support WCM personnel in root cause analysis and problem resolution of production throughput, quality, and cost challenges.
  • Responsible to estimate content and labor costs for proposals and improvements.
  • Responsible for analyzing scope of work and to assist in development of manpower plan requirements to complete project within time constraints defined in the project timeline.
  • Apply lean manufacturing methods to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements and production standards.
  • Lead or assist in the design & Layout of equipment, materials, and workspace changes for improvement utilizing ergonomic standards for maximum efficiency and providing optimal workspaces.
  • Lead or assist with the development and implementation od Standard Work techniques and documentation.
  • Help MEVS achieve cost-saving goals in alignment with the business plan.
  • Follow Magna standards as per the MAFACT Guideline.
  • Assist in time study analysis and methods development.
  • Coordinate process improvements in quality, costing, scrap elimination, and operator wellness.
  • Communicate with Customer, Quality, Production and Management on all concerns, as required.
  • Works with the Ergonomic Committee to complete ERA’s on equipment.
  • Works with the WCM Manager to create project timelines for design tasks from critical project milestones provided by WCM Manager.
  • Responsible in leading Cross-functional teams to complete PFMEA’s, Process Flows, Standardized Work documentation.
  • Supports efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to motivate others.
  • Must have good organizational skills to attend to multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must exhibit high integrity and honesty.
  • Ability to prepare, read, write, and interpret reports, instructions and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Analysis of motion/Ergonomics.
  • Working knowledge of Mistake Proofing/Poke-Yoke.
  • Working knowledge of writing Standard Work Instruction.
  • Must have computer skills (including MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to effectively and appropriately present information and respond to questions for various groups.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • May be required to adjust shifts as necessary.
  • Ability to travel and obtain a passport.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or three years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF, ISO14001, Customer Specific Requirements, and Core Tools.
  • Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending. Ability to lift 40 lbs. occasionally. May be required to adjust shifts as necessary. Ability to travel on occasion.
