- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with IATF 16949, Mafact, and other relevant standards.
- Drive manufacturing practices focused on zero defects, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a quality-focused culture across plants and support areas by promoting quality awareness and accountability at all levels through targeted training, workshops, and effective communication strategies.
- Implement programs to enhance employee engagement and commitment to quality, reinforcing the goal of defect-free products.
- Champion the integration of advanced quality tools and technologies, such as SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0 practices, to minimize defects and optimize processes.
- Champion Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies and driving cost reduction strategies throughout the organization.
- Chair the internal Product Safety Committee (PPAC), assuring compliance with internal and customer practices.
- Define annual KPI goals in conjunction with the VP of Operations and corporate leadership to align quality metrics with organizational objectives and have frequently monitoring and report out sessions.
- Prepare and present overall quality performance, including progress toward zero defects, COPQ reduction, and warranty-related improvements, customer scorecards, to senior management and stakeholders.
- Continuously evaluate Quality plant personnel, defining individual development plans in conjunction with plant management and senior management, ultimately driving organizational continuous improvement.
- Provide support to the General Managers upon request and proactively, which can consist of temporary support resources, onsite support at plants, and/or customer Supplier Quality Group meetings.
- Ensure employees work in a manner consistent with the organization's established objectives and targets utilizing protective equipment, devices, measures, and procedures as promulgated by state and federal regulations. Establish clear goals for workplace health and safety. Complete safety talks, safety meetings, and required training as defined.
- Communicate relevant matters in timely and appropriated way to all stakeholders, as example: customer, plants, peers, management, and corporate.
- Assure read-across is effective and a live process for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality management within the automotive industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of driving cultural change, implementing manufacturing practices to achieve zero defects, leading COPQ improvement initiatives, and managing safety programs.
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier quality management, quoting processes, and aligning with industry best practices, such as Magna’s standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Certifications such as ASQ CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma Black Belt are highly desirable.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, viable concept development, and proficiency with statistical methods.
- Membership and professional certification through the American Society of Quality (ASQ), or equivalent national society.
- Knowledge of government and OEM specifications in area of expertise.
- Proficient skills in applicable manufacturing process control, Value Engineering, FMEA & Six Sigma.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully coordinate and complete multiple tasks within and across departments to meet established and changing deadlines.
- Proficient with computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Full working knowledge of FMEA, Control Plans, Advanced Quality Planning, Statistical Process Control, and problem-solving methodologies.
