Job Responsibilities :
This position will be part of a new start-up joint venture between LM Manufacturing and Magna Seating. The seating JIT Assembly is located in Detroit, Michigan.
Material Supervisor plans, directs and coordinates activities relating to the materials department activities including safety, quality, productivity and employee relations. Supervises the Materials department's Team Leaders, Sequencer / Tuggers and Forklift Truck Drivers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Supervise and Train : Oversee daily activities of team leaders and drivers, train new and transferred employees, and ensure adherence to standardized work processes.
- Plan and Coordinate : Manage inbound and outbound material movement, coordinate with suppliers and transportation companies, and maintain delivery logs.
- Assist and Manage : Support the Materials Superintendent with manpower requirements, manage material cycle counts, and handle inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure Compliance : Enforce company policies, safety rules, and health standards, and ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor and Improve : Track employee attendance, provide performance feedback, lead process improvement projects, and participate in safety programs.
