The Manufacturing Systems Analyst takes part implementing and supporting systems used in manufacturing operations. The individual in this role has command of technical skills required for systems that run procesesses in planning, manufacturing execution, quality control, manufacturing process data collection and other systems used in manufacturing operations.
This role requires broad knowledge and understanding of Production Planning and Execution and its integrations with Manufacturing Execution Systems, Sales, Procurement and Finance business functions.
- Work with business analysts and project managers, and the IT development and support team, to deliver global, scalable solutions and improvements MES, PPDS systems and their integrations with other systems such as ERPs, Process Data Historians, SCADA, and HMI systems.
- Collaborates with IT and lines of business to define business requirements of proposed enhancements to existing software functions, the development of new functionality including testing, or the acquisition of new software.
- Translates business requirements to functional and technical specifications for ERP, MES, interfaces, custom transactions, system modifications, enhancements etc.
- Prepares as-is and to-be process, system documentation and process and data flows as required for design and process reviews.
- Provide input for and develop test plans and assist the business community and management in the execution of system tests.
- Responsible for support and maintenance of existing systems for MES, other Manufacturing Systems and related processes.
- Responsible for maintaining ERP interfaces between MES and SAP S/4 Hana.
- Experience in Label scanning software and hardware
- Database skills, preferably in MS SQL, for designing complex queries with relation to application support, especially for interfaces between systems
- Contribute to an environment of Continuous Improvement of IT processes.
- Minimum 2 years of ERP (preferably SAP) experience in information technology supporting Production planning and execution (Manufacturing). Minimum 10 years of SAP and ERP interface experience for Senior Analysts.
- 2-3 years of Information Technology and/or related domain experience in a manufacturing environment (10 years for Senior Analysts).
- Degree in an Information Technology field
- Collecting requirements to analyze, design and/or implement business changes for manufacturing operations.
- Ability to influence and collaborate at with peers and business partners.
- Good decision making skills – analysis, decisiveness, innovation, and judgment.
- Strong problem solving skills. Understand, anticipates and resolves complex problems.
- Ability to clearly express complex issues through effective verbal and written communication.
- Efffective facilitation skills.
- Motivated, adaptable and focused.
- Ability to write code in any prograing language (especially C# and Python for Senior Analysts).
- Comprehensive background in IT concepts, terminology, relational database functionality, and large systems integration.
- Full software development life cycle experience, including Application lifecycle Management Systems.
- Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Knowledge of debugging and/or basic coding with SAP ABAP and be able to acquire additional skills in other SAP modules, as required.
- Senior Analyst should have a senior understanding of Process Optimization, such as Lean Six Sigma.
