What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Teacher position at Magnet Cove School District?
Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
Teaches District approved curriculum daily.
Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and small group instruction to
adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil daily.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests
of the students.
Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences daily.
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals daily.
Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, etc., and communicates these objectives to
students.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
daily.
Assists students in establishing and maintaining standards of behavior to achieve an effective learning
atmosphere daily.
Evaluates students academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports
as appropriate and required.
Works professionally as a team member within our school district.
Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative
regulations.
Administers and develops subject specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency
levels.
Instructs students for the purpose of improving their success in academics.
Reports incidents for the purpose of maintaining personal safety of students.
Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and /or directing
to appropriate personnel for resolution.
Other duties as assigned.
