The Magnet Cove School District is seeking a qualified Technology Director to lead the District in its acquisition and use of technology resources by providing overall vision for technology use and knowledge of current devices and infrastructure. The director works closely with the superintendent, the building principals, and the other members of the District leadership team to determine the most effective and efficient ways to integrate technology into our students’ education and into our employees’ daily routines. The contract for the technology director is a 238 day contract. Instructional Leadership: Oversee the review, adoption, and assessment of effectiveness of educational technology resources across the district Coordinate with district curriculum personnel and building principals to develop technology integration plans to support classroom instruction Work collaboratively with district leadership to plan and provide professional development for technology and technology integration Stay informed of new trends in education technology through online resources and conferences Assist buildings with entry and maintenance of master schedules in eSchoolPlus Provide technology support to buildings in using data to drive instruction Provide training on systems and procedures for new hires Data Management: Coordinate management of eSchoolPlus student data, scheduling, coding, etc., staying up to date on changes in course codes used with regard to curriculum, licensure, and student enrollment Coordinate training of secretaries/registrars with regard to student records/data Create and modify data reports through Cognos and Report Studio Coordinate and manage cycle reporting to the state Provide technology support for state testing data Manage district staff rights in the ADE SSO portal and eSchoolPlus Attend APSCN/ADE Data Conference to maintain current knowledge of policies/procedures necessary for accuracy of data entry for state reporting Facility and Equipment Management: Maintain an organized and orderly office area for technology services Supervise the maintenance and inventory of technology equipment and resources across the district while maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment Research attributes of specific equipment to determine if compatible with our system Manage the sale and disposal of retired hardware/equipment Maintain an awareness of work order tickets to ensure issues are resolved quickly. Ability to lift and carry technology equipment (approximately 40lbs) Budget: Develop and manage the district technology budget in conjunction with district business office Collaborate with building and district administrators to determine technology software, hardware, and infrastructure needs Monitor technology staff attendance through Frontline software and approve leave based on district policy Oversee all technology purchasing, to include researching, pricing, bidding, ordering, receiving, and installing Communication Maintain open channels of communication within the department, with buildings, and with district administration Understand and promote district policies to employees, parents, and community Inform the district superintendent about matters which are pertinent to the administration of the district Collaborate with appropriate personnel on the preparation and timely submission of all necessary ADE reports Maintain appropriate communication with district administration Operate as part of the district administration team by supporting district initiatives Attend and participate in Supervisors’ meetings Proficiency (or Ability to Learn) Specific School Related Programs: The Arkansas Public Schools Computer Network (APSCN) programs for student and financial data management (eSchoolPlus and eFinance) Excel and Google Sheets Microsoft Word and Google Docs Microsoft Powerpoint and Google Slides Google Forms Outlook G Suite Frontline Talent-ED Yellow Folder Other data and assessment programs as needed
