Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Job Summary
We are seeking a certified occupational therapy assistant to work in San Rafael, California. The ideal candidate will have experience assisting patients with physical, mental, or developmental conditions that affect their ability to perform everyday activities.
Job Description:
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to assist in providing rehabilitation services.
- Assist in carrying out treatment plans designed by the OT.
- Provide therapeutic activities to help patients regain skills necessary for daily living and working.
- Use adaptive equipment and assistive devices as prescribed by the OT to promote patient independence.
Responsibilities:
The COTA will be responsible for:
- Leading individual and group therapy sessions to help patients develop skills in self-care, work, and leisure activities.
- Encouraging patients during therapy and assisting them with exercises and other activities to improve their physical, emotional, and cognitive abilities.
- Educating patients and their families on how to perform therapeutic exercises or tasks at home to continue progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Documenting patient progress, goals, and treatment results in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
The COTA will collaborate with the supervising Occupational Therapist, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
Equipment and Facility Maintenance:
The COTA will be responsible for maintaining and cleaning therapy equipment and adaptive tools used during treatment sessions, ensuring the therapy space is organized and safe for patients and staff.
Requirements:

This job requires a travel Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to work in San Rafael, California. The pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
