As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing a wide range of laboratory tests. You will be responsible for analyzing biological specimens, interpreting test results, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory findings. Responsibilities:
- Perform complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, tissues, and other specimens to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, including analyzers, microscopes, and automated systems, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Prepare and process specimens according to established protocols, including centrifugation, staining, and aliquoting, to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Analyze and interpret test results, identifying any abnormalities or discrepancies, and report findings to physicians and healthcare providers in a timely manner.
- Conduct quality control procedures to monitor the accuracy and precision of test results, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff, including phlebotomists, lab assistants, and medical technologists, to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tests.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all laboratory activities, including test results, quality control data, and equipment maintenance logs, in compliance with regulatory requirements and laboratory policies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new testing procedures, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory services and patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in clinical laboratory science, including new testing methods, technologies, and best practices, through continuing education and professional development.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, to ensure a safe working environment for all laboratory staff.
