Magnet Medical is seeking a skilled travel nurse to join their team in Illinois. As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery, you will provide comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor pregnant women's health throughout labor, including gathering medical histories, vital signs, and physical assessments.
- Perform non-stress tests, monitor fetal heart tones, and evaluate uterine activity for signs of labor progression.
- Educate patients on labor and delivery processes, pain management options, and what to expect during childbirth.
You will work closely with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide safe, compassionate, and effective care to both mothers and newborns. Your duties will include administering medications, monitoring patient progress, and providing emotional support throughout the labor process.
Patient Care: Assist obstetricians or midwives during vaginal deliveries, including instrumentation assistance, suctioning, and other necessary actions during birth. Participate in cesarean section procedures by ensuring the sterile field, assisting with the delivery process, and providing immediate newborn care after birth.
