Job Description: Magnet Medical is seeking a labor and delivery registered nurse to join our team in Kodiak, Alaska.
About the Job:
You will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. You will work closely with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals to plan and implement individualized care for each patient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Labor and Admission Assessment: Gather health histories, vital signs, and physical assessments of pregnant women at various stages of labor
- Labor Support and Monitoring: Monitor the progress of labor through regular assessment of contraction patterns, cervical dilation, fetal heart rate, and maternal vital signs
- Assisting with Delivery: Assist obstetricians or midwives during vaginal deliveries, including providing instrumentation assistance, suctioning, and other necessary actions during the birth
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure in Alaska
- Experience working in labor and delivery
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week
