Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor and Delivery (L&D) is responsible for delivering comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. This involves assessing and monitoring the health of pregnant women, gathering health histories, vital signs, and physical assessments, and educating patients on labor and delivery processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other healthcare team members to plan and implement individualized care for each patient
- Communicate clearly with patients and families about the progress of labor, potential complications, and available options
- Document all assessments, interventions, medications, and patient progress accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
Requirements:
- Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state where the job is located
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, with 36 hours per week
