Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Magnet Medical. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with respiratory or cardiopulmonary disorders.
About the Role:
You will conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams. You will analyze test results and collaborate with physicians to develop personalized treatment plans.
You will adjust and monitor ventilation settings for patients requiring mechanical ventilation or non-invasive positive pressure ventilation. You will administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, pulmonary rehabilitation, and airway clearance techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Provide oxygen therapy via nasal cannulas, masks, or mechanical ventilators for patients with respiratory distress or low oxygen levels.
- Perform aerosol therapy to deliver medication directly to the lungs via inhalers, nebulizers, or other devices.
- Administer incentive spirometry to improve lung function and encourage deep breathing after surgery or illness.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting therapy as necessary based on patient responses.
- Assess patients for signs of respiratory distress and intervene promptly when complications arise.
- Track and document patient progress, ensuring treatments are tailored to the patient's evolving needs.
- Provide emergency respiratory care to patients experiencing respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, or other life-threatening situations.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in respiratory therapy principles and practices. You should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
