Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Repair & Fabrication: Operate mechanical equipment to assemble and repair electric motor components and sub-assemblies. Perform tasks such as machining, shaping, grinding, and electroplating as needed.
- Use of Tools & Measuring Devices: Utilize various measuring tools (e.g., rulers, micrometers, vernier calipers) and testing devices (e.g., megger, voltmeter) to ensure precision in repair work.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret basic prints, line diagrams, and lead connection diagrams to ensure accurate assembly and repair.
- Problem Solving & Planning: Apply knowledge and experience to plan repair tasks and overcome challenges. Use judgment and creativity to accomplish goals and find solutions to repair and fabrication problems.
- General Supervision: Work under general supervision, relying on previous experience to complete tasks while ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Variety of Tasks: Perform a wide range of tasks, from simple to moderately complex repairs, requiring creativity and flexibility in approach.
- Documentation & Compliance: Follow verbal work instructions, complete necessary documentation, and adhere to safety and quality standards.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in a specialty area is preferred.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in the field of electro-mechanical repair or in a related area.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiar with concepts, practices, and procedures within the repair field. Ability to understand and apply basic mechanical and machining principles.
- Tool and Equipment Proficiency: Experience with manual lathes, shapers, drill presses, grinders, and electroplating equipment.
- Communication & Documentation Skills: Ability to read, follow verbal instructions, and complete necessary documents accurately.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Capable of using judgment and creativity to address repair challenges and meet repair goals effectively.
