What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heat Treat Operator - 1st Shift Woodstock, IL position at Magnetic Technologies Corporation?
Brief Summary of Position:
- The Heat Treater is responsible for the set-up and operating of the strip anneal lines and batch furnace, set-up and operating of loading and unloading equipment and set-up and operating of degreasers to clean strip materials.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions of Position:
- Work from specifications and standard processing instructions.
- Set-up all furnaces to required temperatures.
- Purge all furnaces with required atmospheric gas or gases.
- Load specified material onto payoff of all Strip Anneal Heat Treating machines.
- Construct “patches” when necessary by connecting a Titanium strip material to leader strip material
- Weld end of strip material to end of leader material in strip line furnaces.
- Titrate soap tank mixture and maintain proper soap to water ratio throughout Heat Treating or Annealing process
- Exchange felt on pressure pads as needed
- Clean all rolls as needed.
- Set-up proper tension levels at operating station.
- Set-up pressure pads as needed to create required amount of tension on strip.
- Initiate furnace operation when set -up and preparation is complete.
- Observe and indicate by flagging, defective area; of strip material.
- Maintain temperature and gas flow as specified.
- Maintain logs, records, and production reports as required.
- Attach proper forms of identification to material and sample material.
- Produce furnace charts for each job and add jt to shop order to be signed off by an engineer.
- Supply inspectors with required samples.
- Unload furnaces and take material to the next operation work area.
- Prepare coils to be Heat Treated at unloader.
- Fill out paperwork completely and accurately.
- Maintain accurate inventory records including but not limited to: stock tags, NCR tags, and any other related ID tags.
- Keep work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
1st Shift Hours: 7:30AM - 3:30PM
