What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic position at Magnetic Technologies Corporation?
Summary of Position:
Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair & maintain production & facility equipment according to safety, predictive & productive maintenance systems & processes to the to support the achievement of the site’s business goals & objectives.
Duties of Position:
- Perform highly diversified duties to install & maintain production machines & the plant facility’s equipment
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production & performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
- Perform simple machinist duties & responsibilities
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting & repair of production machines
- Read & interpret equipment manuals & work orders to perform required maintenance & service
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test & make adjustments
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment & plant facilities
- Use a variety of hand & power tools, electric meters & material handling equipment in performing duties
- Familiar with PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Experience with CNC Machine tools with ability to diagnose and make general repairs
- Adhere to all safety policies; identify & report unsafe conditions to Supervisor
- Maintain a safe clean & organized work area
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Education Requirements:
- AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Training and/or equal experience in CNC tools, pneumatic and hydraulic presses, motor winding equipment, general facility maintenance and assembly equipment
- High school diploma/GED & completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education & production maintenance experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, tape measures, etc., with precision
- Ability to work on teams or alone
- Ability to read & perform basic mathematics
- Basic computer skills
Working Conditions:
- May be exposed to loud noises, dirt, dust & fumes; moving mechanical parts & vibration on a regular basis
- Intermittent outdoor work as needed
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift &/or move minimum 75 pounds for most machinery
- This position is very active & requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, & climbing all day
