What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Lender position at Magnifi Financial Credit Union?
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for developing new business, structuring and closing real estate loans, as well as maintaining member relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interviews members applying for real estate loans and/or requesting refinancing or rewrites of existing real estate loans and recommends approvals for loans.
- Performs loan closings with members, ensuring invoices are paid and collected from the borrower, all paperwork is properly completed and complies with legal regulations and Magnifi Financial policies.
- Builds positive relationships with members, real estate agents, builders and other business professionals to develop ongoing referral business.
- Works closely with management to identify opportunities to secure qualified loans.
- Recommends, sells, and educates members about Magnifi Financial products and services.
- Expands member relationships through follow-up activities to include outbound calls and prospecting membership for mortgages.
- Makes referrals to appropriate departments.
- Performs collections on problem real estate loans.
- Actively participates in community relations efforts to contribute to the mission and visibility of Magnifi Financial. Visibility and a positive image in the field of membership and with current and prospective members.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree in Credit and Finance plus two years residential mortgage lending experience; or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through a minimum of four years related work experience.

Pay Transparency:
Base plus commission. Base Salary Range: $16.31/hr. through $24.46/hr. Commission range is $30,000/yr. through $80,000/yr. depending on sales performance.
Salaries vary based on factors such as location, internal equity, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role.
Total compensation package varies based on position and may include bonuses, performance-based incentives, commission, and/or discretionary bonuses.
