What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Post Closer position at Magnifi Financial Credit Union?
POSITION SUMMARY
Delivers, funds, reviews, and balances real estate loans. Duties include uploading the loan documents to the electronic document storage system, recording proper mortgage documents, ordering, and reviewing final title work, completing quality control reviews, ensuring all the invoices are paid, delivering loan files to investors, boarding investor loans serviced by Magnifi Financial into servicing software, and balancing each loan file upon completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivers, funds and reviews portfolio real estate loans, secondary market real estate loans, including government sponsored programs, and home equity loans according to investor guidelines, Magnifi Financial policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.
- Communicates with investors to ensure accuracy and completeness of loan file and follows up on status of purchase.
- Notifies Mortgage Loan Closer and Mortgage Loan Coordinator of any discrepancies found by investors in the loan file.
- Follows up and assures appropriate documentation will be received by investors within appropriate time periods.
- Uploads loan documents to electronic storage system.
- Boards investor loans to the servicing platform.
- Records mortgages, satisfactions, and subordinations for all real estate transactions.
- Perfects liens on titled property.
- Verifies all invoices related to the real estate transaction are paid and collected from the borrower at closing.
- Keeps abreast of rules, regulations and Magnifi Financial policy relating to mortgage loans.
- Maintains corporate assigned reports and participates in assigned projects.
- Shares knowledge to train other mortgage support team members.
- Updates and creates department procedures.
- Actively participates in community relations efforts to contribute to the mission and visibility of the Magnifi Financial.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associates degree in a business-related field and two years of experience in a financial institution, preferably in mortgage operations; or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through a minimum of three years related work experience.
