- Create professional and lasting relationships with members of the banking industry.
- Participate in community related activities.
- Shadow information technology, organization development and management positions.
- Attend regular department meetings.
- Work on projects as assigned.
- Shadow departments to gain organization-wide perspective (i.e. Commercial and Agricultural Lending, Mortgage Lending, Financial Advising, Credit Analysis, Deposit Operations, Accounting, etc.).
What else will you learn from this experience? You will…
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug mission critical software.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, working within broadly defined parameters.
- Use Microsoft Teams, ServiceNow, and other Enterprise Applications for development operations and collaboration.
- Support the creation and updating of all relevant documentation and specifications for design, development and testing.
- Identify potential roadblocks and develop around them. You will build software solutions where the solution is not always well defined but always considers the customer first.
- Plan and estimate development tasks and work to improve performance metrics.
- Develop maintainable code that matches specification.
- Perform unit testing of code, including manipulation of data for analysis of system requirements.
- Own the delivery of small parts of a system or application.
- Work closely with other Senior Engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.
- Participate in projects and contribute as a team member to the migration of data warehouse reports, migration of systems to the Cloud, deploying and populating an automated software testing suite and enhancing/modifying the Core Financial Service Solution.
- Educational Requirements: Pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science with a concentration in Software Engineering.
- Communication and relationship building skills, including the ability to positively reflect the Credit Union’s image in the community and the marketplace.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask - flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for projects or assignments.
- Strong Microsoft Windows suite knowledge (Excel, Visio, PPT, Word etc.).
- Background programming in one or more of the following languages: C , Java, C#, HTML, Python, SQL.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving.
- Strong aptitude or interest in engineering business process.
- Good analytical skills for root-cause determination and resolution.
- Must work well independently, as well as within a team environment.
- High level of comfort with supporting remote users via remote desktop tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Summer 2025 (May-August). Actual start and end dates to be determined upon offer.
- 38-40 hours per week; we will work around school schedules to accommodate.
- Hybrid. In person location: Financial Center, Sartell, MN
