Title: Facilities Technician
Primary Purpose: This role exists to support and implement the Mission of Magnificat High School. Under
minimal supervision from the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Technician maintains and repairs the
facility’s equipment, buildings, grounds; ensures timely execution of repairs and maintenance; and performs
specialized and technical duties. The Facilities Technician provides assistance to the Director of Facilities and
other members of the Facilities team and keeps the buildings, grounds, and equipment clean, orderly, and
operational.
Reports to: Director of Facilities
Classification: Non-Exempt, Full Time, 40 hours per week during the school year; 30 hours per week
during summer months of June and July (2000 hours annually); availability to work extended days, evenings
and weekends periodically, as needed.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assists in performing specialized maintenance and preventative duties for the general upkeep
- Performs a variety of general grounds keeping functions (e.g. mowing grass, removing snow,
school activities.
- Identifies and reports situations where repairs and/or maintenance may be needed; conducts
repairs.
- Responsible for daily review and processing of work orders in ML Schedules (work order
- Serves as part of the school security team. Performs duties with members of the Facilities
grounds.
- Works collaboratively with other staff members and outside vendors to ensure cleanliness
- Ensures compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable
working habits and provides for the safety of other personnel while performing repairs and
maintenance
- Works with the Facilities team to set up and breakdown tables, chairs, and other items for
- Assists with after-hours and emergency calls involving facility needs.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Facilities or delegated individual.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- This position is performed both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to work in various weather
illness.
- Significant lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, frequent climbing and balancing, significant
- Generally, the role requires 20% sitting, 30% walking and 50% standing.
- Frequent use of computer, telephone/cell phone, maintenance equipment and machinery.
- High degree of concentration for analyzing, interpreting and reporting information.
- Tasks require visual perception and discernment.
Requirements:
Education:
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent required.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of facilities maintenance experience.
- Must have working knowledge of moderately complex building systems, including mechanical,

- Experience with power equipment and hand tools.
- Must have experience and knowledge of computers. Microsoft Office, energy management systems,
- Must have a valid State of Ohio Driver’s license and good driving record.
