What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dentist position at Magnificus Corporation?
Immediate opening for a Full-time Dentist to support the McDonald Army Health Center, Fort Eustis, VA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree/Education: Doctor of Medical in Dentistry (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Graduate from an accredited dental school approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA). Specialty Dentist must be a graduate of a dental specialty training program that is accredited by the CODA of the ADA or an accepted equivalent program.
- Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support: The HCW shall hold and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS). Certification must be through American Red Cross guidelines. Members must present proof of current certification(s) through American Red Cross. Certified in radiography as required.
- Experience: Shall have been employed for at least one (1) year on a full-time basis in the practice of dentistry. Dental specialists shall have a certificate of training in their specialty area from an ADA-accredited residency training program.
- Board Certification: Board eligible or board certified.
- Licensure/Registration: Candidate must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted Dentist license. Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a dentist in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
The duties are as follows:
- Examines teeth, gums, and related tissues using dental instruments, dental radiographs, and other diagnostic instruments.
- Provides general dentistry procedures to include simple and complex restorations using approved restorative materials; examines, diagnoses, and treats periodontal structures and diseases; examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases of the dental pulp and other dental tissues affecting the vitality of teeth and establishes treatment plan.
- Treats exposure of the dental pulp by pulp capping or removal of the dental pulp from the pulp chamber and root canal.
- Examines, diagnoses, and provides fixed and removable prosthetic procedures as approved by the local credentials committee. Examines, diagnoses, and treats specific teeth for extraction and/or surgical removal as approved by the local credentials committee.
- Prescribes medications, enters workload into workload data reporting system, and consults with and refers patients to appropriate
