What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Preparer position at Magnify?
MAGNIFY has an exciting new opportunity available for a Seasonal Tax Preparer to join our Glen Allen, VA client for the 2025 tax season. We need an experienced seasonal tax professional to primarily handle 1041s with the potential of working 1040s as well. If you are a 1040 tax professional seeking to learn 1041s this is an ideal position for you! Some Business Tax experience is preferred!
Seasonal positions run February to April and may be available for additional hours outside of the typical tax season.
Our client is willing to accommodate some flexibility with setting schedules. They would require at least 25 hours per week during tax season and offer a hybrid 3in-2out format which would include every Tuesday in office. Ideally, this individual would be willing to commit a minimum of 40 – 50 hours per week.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- 1 years of public accounting experience preparing individual and/or business income tax returns
- Min 1 year of Business Tax Experience preferred
- Experience with CCH Axcess or ProSystems Tax software
- Experience working in a paperless environment and ability to learn new software packages
- Must be able to commit to 25 hours per week during tax season, including every Tue in the office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be extremely detail-oriented, thorough and organized
- Professional image and positive attitude
- Team player that is receptive to constructive feedback
