The E&C Engineer III will be responsible for managing environmental projects and assessments across multiple sites related to Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR). This role requires expertise in civil or environmental engineering and involves working on projects from assessment through execution to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site assessments to identify the presence of coal ash.
- Determine the impact of coal ash on groundwater, rivers, and streams.
- Document findings and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Develop specific projects based on assessment findings.
- Plan and oversee substantial civil works at various sites.
- Manage project execution, ensuring coal ash removal and impact mitigation.
- Ensure all projects comply with EPA and MPCA regulations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong project and commercial management experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and familiarity with ProjectWise or Documentum.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Strong collaboration and regulatory compliance expertise.
- PMP or PE certification (not required but highly preferred).
- Experience in environmental compliance, particularly with ground pollutants and heavy civil works.
Work Environment:
- Office-based work at 414 Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, MN, involving collaboration with project teams, environmental services, and consultants.
- Site visits, including weekly travel to the Sherco facility in Becker, MN, and periodic visits to other locations for inspections and meetings.
- Supporting approximately 50 facilities, with 10-20 requiring significant attention.
- Working closely with consultants, environmental teams, engineers, and construction contractors.
Work Hours:
- Hybrid schedule: Tuesday-Thursday onsite, Monday & Friday remote.
- OT is sporadic and not required.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- 8-10 years of experience in civil/environmental engineering.
- Experience in earthwork, environmental compliance, and consulting preferred.
