We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / E&C Engineer to oversee the construction of a GAS Turbine Project in Wheaton, Wisconsin. This role involves managing construction contracts, coordinating site activities, and ensuring compliance with technical and contractual obligations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background, with experience in site construction, contract management, and project oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction Contract Management: Oversee multiple construction contracts, ensuring adherence to agreements, managing contractor relationships, and addressing contractual issues.
- Technical Coordination: Respond to contractor RFIs by collaborating with engineering teams to provide timely and accurate technical responses.
- Site Visits & Project Oversight: Conduct regular site visits (1-3 days per week) in Wheaton, WI, with potential travel to the Blue Lake facility in Shakopee, MN.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with site managers, contractors, engineers, and project teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, update project schedules, track budget adherence, and provide regular reports.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all construction activities adhere to industry regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
- Experience: 8-10 years in site construction management with a mechanical focus (required).
- Industry Expertise: Hands-on experience in GAS turbine or power energy site construction (required).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, PDF software, and Microsoft Teams.
- Certifications: PE certification is nice to have; PMP certification is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read, understand, and apply project schedules.
- Strong contract management and project oversight skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.
Work Environment & Team Culture:
- Highly collaborative team environment.
- Close coordination with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Contractors, Construction Managers, and Project Controls Teams.
- Expected to interact effectively with construction crews and site teams.
Work Schedule & Travel Requirements:
- Full-time onsite role in Wheaton, WI.
- Travel to Shakopee, MN (Blue Lake Facility) at least once per month.
- Candidates based in Minnesota will travel weekly to Wisconsin; those based in Wisconsin will travel to Minnesota 1-2 times per month.
- Per diem available for non-local candidates.
- Mileage reimbursement provided for local travel.
