This is a temporary contract opportunity with The Cigna Group through Magnit, an enterprise third-party vendor for contingent work.
Position Notes:
- REMOTE POSITION - Monday-Friday, 40 hours.
- Core Hours 9am-5pm ET.
- Remote locations preferred are in the following areas; Bloomfield CT, Morris Plains NJ, Philadelphia PA as there may be some travel for team meetings. However, other locations would be considered for right candidate.
Cigna's Enterprise DevOps organization is seeking a DevOps Engineering Senior Advisor to join our Productivity Engineering Organization. This team provides critical services and supporting infrastructure that underlie our company’s CI/CD efforts. Critical technical skills include expertise in: Linux with strong familiarity with Python and Ansible. Additional beneficial skills include: Terraform, and OpenShift / Kubernetes as well as the common DevOps activities, practices and techniques found in highly automated environments. Critical skills include the ability to follow DevOps best practices implemented across our team as well as plan and strategize on near-term and longer-term projects.
Candidates for this position will work collaboratively across our internal Customers, Product Owners and Product teams on technical DevOps solutions and best practices. Success in this position requires you to possess well developed critical thinking skills and can participate in an Agile Software Engineering delivery as an open-minded contributor who can help the team reach it its larger goals.
Responsibilities:
- Through a hands-on approach, conduct software engineering, code reviews and deliver innovative software tools, and technologies. Maintain deep levels of involvement in the implementation process.
- Ensure adherence to existing DevOps enterprise direction and architectural strategies.
- Function as a hands-on member of the DevOps teams - guiding & mentoring the team to design, document, develop, test, deploy and maintain products and solutions.
Requirements:
- Sr. level knowledge of Linux and associated operating systems
- Experience building, maintaining, and supporting enterprise tools (GitHub/GitLab)
- Follows versioning and release strategies with Git/GitHub
- Competence with Python and Bash
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools (such as Ansible/Terraform)
- Bachelor’s degree is related field required
- GitHub administrator training and/or certifications
- RHEL or related certifications
Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)
The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $61.00-$76.00/hr
