Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000. Starting pay is commensurate with experience.

We’re looking for a Mechatronics Technician to join our team of innovators, tinkerers, and problem-solvers. In this role, you'll work on cutting-edge automation systems, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and bring ideas to life through hands-on fabrication and assembly. Whether it’s wiring up a new transient absorption spectrometer, designing new solutions in CAD, or machining a custom part, you’ll be at the heart of making things work.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assemble cutting-edge electro-mechanical systems using a variety of hand and power tools—turning components into fully functional, high-tech creations
  • Modify and fabricate parts using precision equipment like end mills, drill presses, belt sanders, and band saws to ensure every piece fits perfectly
  • Bring systems to life by wiring electro-mechanical components according to detailed wire diagrams, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently
  • Keep our designs up to date by adjusting procedures and bills of materials to reflect the latest product enhancements
  • Inspect incoming parts with a keen eye, ensuring they meet strict specifications before they become part of our innovative systems
  • Work hands-on with PCBs—assembling and soldering them to create the electronic backbone of our products
  • Conduct detailed quality checks to ensure every product meets our high standards before it reaches the customer

Qualifications

  • A certificate, diploma, or degree in electro-mechanical engineering technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly and/or quality control in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and schematics, including wiring diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Enthusiasm for hands-on work and a willingness to learn new skills

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. This company does not sponsor applicants for work visas at this time.

The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting. The individual must constantly talk, hear, stand, or sit for extended periods while using a computer, telephone, or other productivity devices to communicate with other personnel and conduct business. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Individuals frequently use their hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects and computer keyboards. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, squat, turn, twist, and smell. The individual must frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds and/ routinely (several times a week is likely) lift, carry, push, pull, and/or maneuver up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

On a frequent and routine basis, this job also requires the individual to be physically present in a light industrial, temperature-controlled, air-filtered manufacturing area to communicate with others and conduct business. The noise levels in the facility can also vary widely in different regions, and specific workspace restrictions are also possible. Occasional sitting, standing, moving forwards/backward/side-to-side, and working around machinery and moving parts is possible; exposure to electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gases, chemicals, oils, sealants, solvents, and other compounds is possible.

Site conditions will dictate the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including eye, hearing, and respiratory protection, a protective smock, steel-toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.
